These are some of my favorite pre-classical works. These all come from the Greek Isles.
Cycladic
Statuettes

Minoan(Pre-Greek Culture)
Landscape With Swallows (Spring Fresco), from room Delta 2, Akrotiri, Thera (Cyclades), Greece.

What's cool about this is that when it was excavated a bed was found in this room. Someone slept here!
Detail of Swallows from Spring Fresco

Kamares Ware Jars (Most of these were found at Phaistos)

This is my favorite Kamares Ware Jar. The octopus looks happy!
Bull-leaping, from the palace at Knossos (Crete), Greece.

The darker one is male and the lighter two female. Typical of ancient societies.
Throne Room at Knossos

The cool thing about this is that where you see these half bird creatures you would usually find a woman. Suggesting that this society held women in such high regard as to allow them rule. Very different from the Greeks that follow them.
Mycenaean

There is some controversy about the excavation of this mask. If you are interested just ask me about the funerary mask dug up by Schliemann.

Cool, just wanted to give you some feed back. Happened upon this site studing for Art History Exam. Thank You for your help, the quotes were interesting.
